Every Tuesday and Saturday the babies in the NICU get a bath and it just so happens that we were able to be there today and help give Lincoln his first bath in water. Up until now, he was just given a quick wipe down....he's four weeks old so I guess he's moving to the upper echelon of baths:-) Since we know many of you love pictures and videos, we made sure to take the video camera along for bath day. But, before we let you see the fun stuff....we've got to give you the important details that everyone is always curious about...his weight! As of early Saturday morning, Lincoln weighed 4lbs. 8oz. He is still doing pretty good at regulating his own body temperature but sometimes he gets a little cold...something the nurses deal with by putting some heat lamps over his bed. Although this method does help, one other method of warming Lincoln still remains...the nurses like to let Lincoln spend a lot of time close to his momma. For some reason, Lincoln and April never seem to argue with this suggestion;-) As for his lungs....well, you can continue to pray for him to develop strong lungs. He still has some occasional issues when it comes to breathing.
And now, on to the fun stuff...
In addition to the fun bath time, we were able to spend some good time with April's parents who drove over from Modesto for a few hours. Since we couldn't be together on Christmas, we ended up spending our "Christmas" and opening presents with April's parents in our car parked in the garage at the hospital. It was a lot of fun and something to remember for sure. After the parking garage festivities, we tried to get a peek at Lincoln. Unfortunately he didn't have quite enough energy to stay awake for company. One of his favorite hobbies seems to be "sleeping"...sorry guys, maybe next time he'll be awake:-)
Speaking of sleep...I think it's time I call it a night. Thanks for staying connected to our blog. We enjoy sharing with you all. We'll write more soon....
Love,
Jeremy, April, & Lincoln

I loved the part during bath time when April was holding him forward and Lincoln was patting her arm like he was saying, "Your doing a good job Mom!" So cute!

Jeremy and April,
We are rejoicing over all of the milestones Lincoln has reached! Amen!
We'll keep praying!
Thanks for the video...he is absolutely adorable! I can't believe how big he's already gotten just these past 4 weeks. It was great talking to you, and I can't wait until he's big enough to come home so we can come and visit you guys!
Lots of prayers,
Michael and Allison
Wow Lincoln did good during his bath time, he looked like he really enjoyed it! Wonder how he'll be in two years :) I am sure there will really be some splishing and splashing going on then! Praying for his lungs! Sure miss you April, not just for the work you do either, but I miss just getting to chat!
How sweet and precious! Loved the bath video...so did he! Praise the Lord for all He has done for you and Lincoln. You're all growing in different ways. God will use this all some day for HIS good. Love and prayers,
Van and Nancy Switzer
